Moving Files Between Libraries (Pre-Release)

Is there a way for Admins to move a file from one library to the next prior to release? Currently if an engineer checks a file into the wrong library the Admin must have the engineer re-check out the file and check it back into the correct library. With having engineers on the road frequently getting a hold of them can be difficult. Is this something that admins have the capability to remedy?

If the file is with status IN, then the file can be moved by an admin or user with permissions to move files between libraries.

If the files is checked into a "Checked Library" and is captured by a workflow then you have 2 choices:

    1. Wait for the document to be approved and with status IN. Then move it to the correct library

    2. Final approve the document, move it to the correct library, check-out and check-in so it can get back to the approval workflow.

I agree with @atoloeva, however, both choices will increment the Adept Version of the file. If you don't want the Adept Version number to increase, you would have to:

    1. Copy out the file to a work area (this makes a duplicate, use the "Copy Data Card information with files" option to keep your metadata).
    2. Delete the existing file from the library(assuming you don't allow duplicate filenames).
    3. Check in the file from the work area to the correct library.

If you allow duplicate filenames you can do 1 & 3, then do 2 later.
