My file is Checked Out to what Work Area?

You...

  • ...can't Acquire Check Out because the file is already checked out to another user. But you know it was you.
  • ...have a duplicate file in your Work Area but it should be marked as Out to you.

Try adding the Column "Work Path (system)" to your column set. That will indicate what Work Area Adept thinks you last put the file.

Possible reasons why...

  • Perhaps you traveled and Checked Out a file on a laptop or another PC and the Work Area is actually on that device?
  • The file was moved or deleted using Windows Explorer or some other method outside of Adept?

    This is a great tip @BCranston. I've also seen this when a network work area has the server name changed, it's easy enough for this to happen.
